On April 28, 2018, the General Administration of Customs issued the Decree No. 238 “Decision of the General Administration of Customs on Amending Rules and Regulations”, and a total of 71 regulations were revised. Among the food-related issues, there are “Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Food Hygiene at Ports”, “Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Entry and Exit Food Inspection and Quarantine”, “Administrative Measures on the Inspection and Quarantine of imports and Exports of Feed and Feed Additives,” and “Administrative Measures for Inspection and Quarantine of Exit Fruits. "Administrative Measures for Inspection and Quarantine of Entry and Exit Genetically Modified Products" and "Administrative Measures for Inspection and Quarantine of Entry Fruits".

General Administration of Customs Releases "Decision of the General Administration of Customs on Abolishing Part of the Regulations"

On April 28, 2018, the General Administration of Customs issued the Decree No. 239 "Decision of the General Administration of Customs on the Repeal of Part of the Regulations", the repeal of the "Administrative Measures for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine" and the "Regulations on Administrative Penalties for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine".

National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center Releases Comments on Food Additives for Apple Wood Smoked Flavors

On April 28, 2018, the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center released the comments on the food additives Applewood smoked flavors. The deadline for solicitation comments is May 28, 2018.
