Foreword

This standard replaces GB 1905-2000 “Food additive Sorbic acid”.

Compared with GB 1905-2000, the major changes of this standard are as follows:
       
      ——the name of this standard has been revised to “National food safety standard Food additive Sorbic acid”;

——the appearance has been revised to “white or off-white powder or granule” from “white crystalline powder”
 
       ——the content of sorbic acid (on dry basis) has been revised to “≥99.0%” from “99.0%~101.0%”;

——the aldehyde indicator has been added;

——the arsenic indicator has been deleted;

——the heavy metal indicator has been replaced by lead indicator.
