On September 19, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 125 of 2024, announcing that with immediate effect, the import of Poria cocos from the Republic of Congo that meets the relevant requirements is permitted.
Enterprises producing, processing and storing Poria for export to China shall be audited by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Republic of Congo (hereinafter referred to as the Congolese side) and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side). The registration information shall include name, address and registration number for accurate traceability in case the exported goods do not comply with the relevant provisions of this announcement. Prior to the commencement of trade, the Congolese side shall provide the Chinese side with a list of registrations, which shall be published on the website of the GACC after examination and approval.
