On September 18, 2024, Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) revised the standards for high fructose corn syrup and sweetened high fructose corn syrup with effect from the date of publication. Main contents:
(1) Fructose content greater than 35% is added to the product standard;
(2) New product labeling: product name, preservation methods, shelf life, name of raw materials, name and address of production and processing enterprises, country of origin;
(3) Sugar refractive index determination method is partially revised.
