Indonesia revised standards and procedural provisions for the registration of health food

On September 23, 2024, the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (FDA) issued Notice No. 15, 2024, amending the Standards and procedures for the registration of health foods (Regulation No. 32, 2022). The amendments include:

 

(1) In Schedule 1 (List of vitamins and minerals allowed to be supplemented by health food), the maximum daily intake of selenium for pregnant women and nursing mothers should not exceed 65μg;

 

(2) Revise the maximum daily intake of zinc in Schedule 1 from 25mg to 30mg. The announcement shall take effect from the date of publication in the Government Gazette.
