On September 12, 2024, the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) announced a temporary ban on the importation of pig offal, which has an implementation deadline of March 12, 2025.

The relevant food HS codes involved are: edible, frozen pig liver with HS code 0206.41.00 and edible, frozen pig offal (except pig liver) with HS code 0206.49.00. In addition, Cambodia no longer prohibits the import of frozen offal of some fish, cattle and poultry. The ban does not apply to the import of the above goods for export under Cambodia's "Qualified Investment Projects" (QIPs). Cambodia hopes that relevant people, import and export companies, and other relevant parties will strengthen cooperation with Cambodian governmental departments to implement the ban.
