On November 14, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea issued Notice No. 2024-71, amending part of the Codex Alimentarius, which includes the following major changes:

1. New standards for microorganisms (E. coli and pathogenic bacteria) in food (except processed foods and beverages) in food vending machines.

2. The new limit requirements for ochratoxin A in infant formula food and formula food for growth period containing more than 25% starch raw materials such as cereals are set: ≤0.50 μg/kg.

3. Modify the list of Korean food ingredients.

4. New and modified residue limit standards for 104 kinds of pesticides such as pyrrolidone.

5. Two new veterinary drugs such as strychnine are not detectable in food, and the residual limit standard of albendazole in fish is newly set.

6. New setting and modification of general test methods.
