November 14, 2024 - Moldova's Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry proposes to develop new food regulations, with a feedback period ending November 27, 2024 for comments. Key elements:

(1) Scope. Excluding genetically modified foods, additives, etc;

(2) Definitions;

(3) Listing requirements. only new foods listed in the list are allowed to be produced and imported;

(4) New food authorization procedures. Name and address of the applicant; name and description of the new food; description of the production process; details of the composition of the new food; scientific evidence that the new food poses no safety risk to human health; methods of analysis; conditions of use and specific labeling requirements, etc;

(5) Responsibilities of competent authorities, etc;

(6) The list of new EU foods to be adopted. For example, the requirements for the use of various new foods such as N-Acetylneuraminic acid. Some of the contents are shown in the table below.
