Chile amended alcohol labeling regulations

On 16 November 2024, the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security of Chile published, through the Official Gazette of Chile, Circular No. CVE2571046, amending Decree-Law No. 19925 on the labeling of alcoholic beverages, effective as of the date of its publication.

  

The amendment consists of replacing the last paragraph of Article 12 of Decree No. 19925 with the following:

The minimum size of the letters of the nutrition label shall be 1.5 mm for containers with a net content of less than 237 ml;

2 mm for containers with a net content of not more than 1.5 litres;

3 mm for containers with a net content of more than 1.5 litres;

For the letters of 1.5 mm, a maximum of 10 characters per cm, up to 10 characters;

For 2 mm letters, 8 characters per cm; and for 3 mm letters, 5 characters per cm.
