China Food and Drug Administration proposed opinions on use management of rapid detection method of food, the opinions defined that the food rapid detection cannot replace the food inspection methods carried out by food inspection agency by using conventional laboratory instruments and equipment and cannot be used in the food sampling inspection in the deployment of food safety supervision work.


China National Standardization Center of Food & Fermentation issued the exposure draft of 2 standards for canned food as “Canned food classification” and “Canned porridge” and solicited opinions on them form entire industry. The deadline for soliciting opinions is July 10.


General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued the “Administrative measures for imported food attached with certificate (exposure draft)” notified to WTO/TBT, the exposure draft pointed out that the issuance of the administrative measures is for ensuring the quality and safety of imported food and achieving effective link of imported food supervision with national/regional government supervision of food imported into China, the measures is proposed to be implemented form October 1.
