On November 15th, 2017, National Health and Family Planning Commission issued “Plan for project approval of national food safety standard in 2017” including 83 standards, involving general standard, food product standard, standards for foods for special dietary uses, specifications of food additives, specifications of food nutrition reinforcement, specifications of production and business and test method.
China Food and Drug Administration issued 3 supplementary test methods for food including “Determination of 75 illegal added chemical drugs in health food”
On November 24th, 2017, China Food and Drug Administration issued 3 supplementary test methods for food including “Determination of 75 illegal added chemical drugs in health food”, “Determination of atropine, anisodamine, scopolamine, procaine and lidocaine in livestock meat” and “Comprehensive test method for fatty acid in edible fat and oil”.

On November 27th, 2017, National Health and Family Planning Commission issued “Announcement about 6 new varieties of food related products including 2-propenoic acid, polymer with ethanedial and 2-propenamide” including 3 new varieties of food related product, 1 new resin intended for food contact material and its product, and 2 additives of expanding usable range or usage amount intended for food contact material and its product.
Ministry of Agriculture issued “Letter about soliciting opinions on standard for maximum residue limit of veterinary drugs in food of animal origin”
On November 30th, 2017, Ministry of Agriculture issued “Letter about soliciting opinions on standard for maximum residue limit of veterinary drugs in food of animal origin” involving 267 veterinary drugs, including 2191 limit value of 104 veterinary drugs stipulated in approved maximum residue limit for food of animal origin, 154 veterinary drugs allowed in food of animal origin with no need for residue limits and 9 veterinary drugs allowed for therapeutic use while absent in food of animal origin. The list of veterinary drugs and compounds banned in food animals would be issued separately.
