Case

Consumer Mr. Yang bought 17 bags of the famous candy macadamia chocolate with the net weight of 112 grams at Carrefour, the unit price of 43.9¥/bag,the total price is ¥746.3. Later, he found that the Japanese nutrients values in the original label on the package were inconsistent with the contents of the Chinese nutrients value label. He thought that there was a problem with the food in question, so he complained about the food to the relevant food and drug department and filed a lawsuit with the court.

The illegal fact: GB 28050

Analysis

There is an inconsistency between the Chinese and Japanese label contents of the nutrition value table of Carrefour's products for sale. The Chinese label of the product in question is labeled as 213KJ per 100g, 0.6g of protein, 3.7g of fat, 3.8g of carbohydrate, and 4mg of sodium. The original packaging label contains 51 kcal of energy, 0.6 g of protein, 3.7 g of fat, 3.8 g of carbohydrate, and 4 mg of sodium per granule (8.3 g). Violation of the "National Food Safety Standard, General Pre-packaged Nutrition Labelling GB 28050-2011", Carrefour's behavior does not comply with the "Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China" and other relevant laws and regulations, which will be misleading to consumers.
