This standard replaces GB 14880-1994 Hygienic standard for the use of nutritional fortification substances in foods.
Comparing with GB 14880-1994, major changes are as follows:
- The title of this standard has been modified to National Food Safety Standard: Standard for the Use of Nutritional Fortification Substances in Foods
- The relevant provisions on nutritional fortification substances in Announcement No. 1 issued by Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China from 1997 to 2010 and Annex B of GB 2760-1996 have been added;
- Terms and definitions have been added;
- The main purposes of nutritional fortification, the requirements for the use of nutritional fortification substances and the requirements for the selection of food categories which can be fortified have been added;
