Foreword
This standard replaces GB 17511.1-2008 “Food additive Allura Red”
Compared with GB 17511.1-2008, the major changes are as follows:
—— the name of the standard has been revised to “National food safety standard Food additive Allura Red”;
——the name of appearance indicators has been revised to sensory requirements;
——the indicators of loss on drying have been combined with indicators of chloride (as NaCl) and sulfate (as Na2SO4);
——the indicator requirements and test methods of low sulfonation secondary dyestuff, high sulfonation secondary dyestuff, 6-hydroxy-5-[(2-methoxy-5-methyl-4-sulfophenyl)azo]-8-(2-methoxy-5-methyl-4 -sulfophenoxy)-2-naphthalenesulfonic acid disodium salt and heavy metal (as Pb) have been deleted;
——the indicator requirements and test methods of secondary dyestuff have been added;
——the test methods of arsenic and lead have been revised.
