  • The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) is the central administrative agency in charge of marine aquatic product policy, fishing village development and aquatic product circulation, shipping, harbor, marine environment, marine survey, marine resource development, marine science and technology research and development, marine safety trial and other related matters.MOF is mainly responsible for the safety management of aquatic products and sea salt in the production stage, and the National Aquatic Product Quality Management Institute is responsible for its subordinate organization, such as aquatic product quarantine, export aquatic product inspection and related international cooperation, etc.

  • The Ministry of Environment (MOE) is mainly responsible for the environmental protection of the natural environment and life, the prevention of environmental pollution and the protection, utilization and development of water resources. Its subordinate organization, the Water Environment Policy Bureau, is mainly responsible for water quality environmental standards, target standard setting, drinking water quality standard setting, drinking water and water treatment agent management and other related matters.

  • The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) is the central administrative agency in charge of Korea's agriculture, livestock, grain, food industry revitalization, rural development, and agricultural product distribution. MAFRA is mainly responsible for the safety management of agricultural and livestock products in the production stage.

  • The Food Safety Policy Committee is directly under the government committee of the Prime Minister's Office. It was established in 2008 in accordance with the Basic Food Safety Law and the Implementation Order of the Basic Food Safety Law. It is a coordinating body that comprehensively coordinates the food safety strategies of various administrative departments. Mainly review and adjust basic plan-related matters, major food safety policies, the formulation and revision of food safety laws and food safety standards, food and other related risk assessments, comprehensive countermeasures related to major food safety incidents, and other food-related safety issues.
