China-CEEC Dialogue on Customs was held in Ningbo

 
On June 7, the Fifth China-CEEC Dialogue on Customs, Inspection and Quarantine Cooperation was held in Ningbo.

The theme of the dialogue was "Cooperating with ‘Smart Customs, Smart Borders, Smart Shares’ to Promote Trade Security and Customs Clearance'", aiming to deepen the cooperation between the customs, inspection and quarantine, agriculture, food and other departments of China and Central and Eastern European countries.

In 2020, despite the severe impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, China's trade with CEEC still shows a strong momentum of growth trend, with the trade volume exceeding US$100 billion for the first time, an increase of 8.4% over 2019. From January to April 2021, bilateral trade totaled US$40.71 billion, an increase of 47.9% over the same period in 2020.

During the dialogue session, the General Administration of Customs of China also signed bilateral protocols with the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia. Up to now, China has signed 95 customs inspection and quarantine cooperation documents with CEEC, involving 15 countries, and has approved 132 types of food, 41 types of live animals and agricultural products from 14 countries to be exported to China. In the past 9 years of cooperation between China and CEEC, the average annual growth rate of agricultural imports from CEEC has reached 9.7%.
