According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), on July 3, 2023, the U.S. FDA issued a recall notice stating that Mondelez Global LLC is recalling two belVita breakfast sandwich biscuits because the products contain Undeclared allergens (peanuts). The recalled products are as follows:
This recall is limited to the Bakery Breakfast Sandwich Biscuits listed in the table below, which have been shipped nationwide. This recall does not include any other Roker or Mondelez International products, nor does it affect markets outside the United States.
The company is understood to have discovered the issue during an internal production inspection when they discovered that residues of peanut protein may be present on the lines used to make the products. People with a peanut allergy or severe sensitivity may experience serious or life-threatening allergic reactions from consuming these products.
The US FDA advises consumers who are allergic to peanuts not to consume the above products and to discard related products.
