According to the information of food and cosmetics that have not been allowed to enter China from January to December 2020 released by the General Administration of Customs, Foodmate has made statistics on the situation of food that has not been allowed to enter China in 2020.In 2020, 2,001 batches of food were found to be unqualified under the safety and hygiene items and were not allowed to enter China, an increase of 12% over the 1,792 batches in 2019.Food that has not been allowed to enter the country has been returned or destroyed at the port.
Judging from the information released every month in 2020, the most non-entry foods were detected in July, with 246 batches. The specific number of batches of non-entry food per month is as follows:

Statistics show that these unauthorized foods come from Afghanistan, Argentina, UAE, Ireland, Austria, Australia, Pakistan, Bahrain, Brazil, Belarus, Bermuda, Belgium, Iceland, Poland, Bolivia, Denmark, Germany, Russia, Ecuador, France, France. Rock Islands, Philippines, Costa Rica, Greenland, Kazakhstan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Kyrgyzstan, Canada, Cambodia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritius, the United States, Mongolia and more than 70 countries or regions. Among them, Vietnam, Japan, and Taiwan are among the top three in the number of batches of non-entry food.

Statistics found that in 2020, the reasons for the unqualified foods that were not allowed to enter the country were mainly concentrated in labeling unqualified, over-range or over-limit use of food additives, unqualified sensory inspections, inconsistent cargo certificates, detected animal diseases, microbial contamination problems, and failed to provide as required Certificates or qualified certification materials, failure to obtain inspection and quarantine access and other issues. There are also a small number of foods that have been detected beyond the shelf life, pesticide and veterinary drug residues, unqualified packaging, product mildew, over-range or over-limit use of nutrient fortifiers, containing ingredients that have not been approved for inspection and quarantine, or containing unqualified or unapproved products imported ingredients, impurities, unlabeled/unapproved/undeclared genetically modified ingredients detected, pollution/corruption, heavy metal pollution and other pollutant pollution, and other quality index issues. In addition, there are other problems such as the detection of non-edible substances in a very small number of foods, bottle stopper moldy, unregistered companies, excessive biotoxins, illegal use of chemical substances, and carrying harmful organisms.

The ports of entry for non-entry food are Beijing, Chengdu, Dalian, Fuzhou, Gongbei, Guangzhou, Harbin, Haikou, Hangzhou, Hangzhou, Hefei, Hohhot, Huangpu, Jinan, Jiangmen, Karasu, Kunming, Manzhouli, Nanjing, 37 in Nanning, Ningbo, Qingdao, Xiamen, Shantou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Tianjin, Urumqi, Wuhan, Xi'an, Zhanjiang, Changchun, Changsha, Zhengzhou and Chongqing.

Foodmate reminds consumers to pay attention when purchasing imported foods: 1. Check whether the product has Chinese labels. Please do not buy foods without Chinese labels on the outer packaging. 2. Look at the inspection and quarantine certificate. This certificate is a "pass" for imported food to enter the circulation market. Consumers can obtain the certificate from the distributor. Please do not buy food produced overseas without this certificate. 3. Buy through formal channels, don't believe in overseas shopping and purchasing.
