Thailand's Ministry of Public Health issues recommendations for safe consumption of poultry during the Spring Festival
News from the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand on February 7: Opas, General Director of the Department of Disease Control, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Public Health, said that on February 12 this year, Bangkok Chinatown will hold a celebration ceremony for the Chinese Lunar New Year. Thai Chinese and descendants will use poultry meat in ceremonies such as worshiping their ancestors. Although Thailand has not confirmed human cases of avian influenza since 2006, relevant agencies and the public must still take continuous monitoring measures to prevent and control avian influenza.
Therefore, the Department of Disease Control issued recommendations for the safe consumption of poultry meat during the Spring Festival: First, all measures to prevent the coronavirus should be strictly followed; poultry meat should be purchased in a clean, safe and registered poultry trading market; hands should be washed immediately after contact live poultry; choose to eat safe chicken or duck meat, and clean and cooked eggs.
