The National Food Safety and Sanitation and Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency and Consultation Point of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (referred to as the Vietnam SPS Office) stated that after two online inspections of Vietnamese fresh durian plantations and packaging enterprises, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) approved 246 durian planting area codes and 97 durian packaging enterprise codes to have sufficient conditions to export durian to China.

Wu Chunlan, deputy director of the Vietnam SPS Office, said that the newly approved Vietnamese durian planting area code and packaging enterprise code will broaden the path for the product to be exported to China. We must ensure the spirit of cooperation with the Chinese side, manage the codes of planting areas and packaging companies in strict accordance with Chinese requirements, and then help farmers obtain higher economic benefits from this special fruit.
