On August 3, 2023, the Saudi Arabian Food and Drug Authority issued Circular No. 88736, amending the classification registration requirements for dietary supplements. The main contents of the revision are:
1. The label of dietary supplements sold in Saudi Arabia must be approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health, and its specific product code must be marked on the label;
2. If the dietary supplement has made nutritional or functional claims, the applicant shall provide relevant scientific basis or supporting materials in the registration application materials.
The amendment will take effect from 6 August 2023.
