This is a review of regulations on the use of coffee beans imported from abroad as raw materials or mixed with domestic raw coffee beans to produce roasted coffee beans for export. Previously, only domestically produced coffee (green coffee beans, roasted coffee beans and coffee products) ), and coffee products made from imported coffee beans can be exported.

The Ministry of Commerce of Thailand has prepared a total of 3 rules (drafts) on determining the criteria, methods and conditions for granting licenses and obtaining coffee export certificates, including the Regulations (draft) of the Ministry of Commerce on licensing coffee to be shipped out of Thailand to determine obtaining licenses Standards and conditions of the International Trade Office; Regulations (Draft) of the Office of International Trade on Registration as a Coffee Exporter to clarify how to register as a coffee exporter; The method of issuing certificates shall be determined in accordance with the resolutions of the meetings of the Policy and Development Planning Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and the resolutions of the Horticulture Subcommittee.

In this regard, the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand will hold public hearings on all 3 regulations (drafts) related to coffee export rules from August 28 to September 11, 2023, which will be submitted to the Minister of Commerce Consider and sign the Ministry of Commerce's announcement before proceeding.
