Thailand has issued 2 standards for the definition and terminology of food and agricultural products

On September 1, 2023, the Thai Ministry of Health issued two announcements through the 212th Government Gazette of 2023, announcing two definitions and terminology standards for food and agricultural products. The specific respectively are:

 

The "Standard for Terms and Definitions related to Quality Safety and Labeling of Food and Agricultural Products" contains 197 terms and definitions related to quality safety and labeling of food and agricultural products, such as low-acid food refers to all foods with pH>4.6 and water activity >0.85 of the final product (except alcoholic beverages);

 

The “Standard for Definitions and Terminology Related to Health Requirements for Terrestrial Animals” contains 127 terms and their definitions, such as meat, which refers to any edible part of an animal.

 

The above two standards will come into effect upon publication in the Government Gazette.
