Russian media Milknews: The head of the Russian product quality organization Roskachestvo said that in the next four months, Russia will develop a product standard for plant-based artificial meat (GOST).

Plant-based alternatives to traditional foods are growing fast, so there is a need to standardize the industry, such as determining what types of proteins can be used, how products are named, and setting requirements to ensure consumers understand the ingredients in products, the official said.

The head of the Russian Veterinary and Plant Health Supervision Service previously said that Russia will implement the national registration of plant-based dairy products, and will establish an inter-departmental committee with the Russian dairy industry association to jointly study the systematic registration of such products.
