Recently, as Vietnamese durian enters the off-season, and the demand of the Chinese market does not reduce, the purchase price of durian production area continues to rise.

At present, the harvest season in the central plateau region of Vietnam has ended, and the local province of Dak Lak is the main producer of durians in Vietnam, and only a few durians are left to be picked. Durian production in Tok Lok Province exceeded 200,000 tonnes this year, with the highest increase in purchase prices. The Mekong Delta region has also entered the low harvest season, with few durians available and prices rising slightly.

On December 6, the purchase price of durian in the western region of Vietnam (Mekong Delta), the eastern region and the Central Plateau region continued to rise, with the western region having the highest price. The purchase price of Mushan King durian is as high as 160,000-190,000 dong/kg, equivalent to about 47.2-56.0 yuan/kg. In late October, due to poor quality, the purchase price of Vietnamese Musang King durian was only 80,000-100,000 dong/kg, which was basically the same as the price of other varieties. Now, just six weeks later, Vietnamese durians are out of season, and the price of Musang King has almost doubled.

According to Vietnamese media reports, recently, the Plant Protection Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural areas of Vietnam has just completed the consultation work on the draft standard for frozen durian exports to China, which is expected to be introduced soon.

According to the draft standards, frozen durians imported from Vietnam must be hand-selected to remove defective and rotten fruit and ensure that the fruit does not contain metal impurities. The raw materials of frozen durian imported from Vietnam to China must come from registered orchards in Vietnam. Frozen durians exported from Vietnam to China must be packaged in clean, hygienic and safe international food standards.
