On March 7, 2024, according to the Official Journal of the European Union, the European Commission published Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/840, which establishes the import duties applicable to certain types of husked rice from March 7, 2024. The main contents of the implementing regulations are:

(1) The import duty on rice in shell belonging to CN Code 100620 (other than Basmati rice in shell referred to in Article 2 (1) of Commission Authorisation Regulation (EU) 2023/2835) is EUR 30 per tonne;

(2) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1701 is repealed;

(3) This Regulation shall enter into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. The regulation is fully binding and directly applicable to all EU members.
