As of September 1, 2024, Russia will gradually introduce digital marking of five new categories of goods: vegetable oils, animal feeds, veterinary medicines, certain types of canned goods and non-alcoholic beers, according to the website of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
For participants in the above commodity categories, as of September 1, 2024, they are required to register in the National Commodity Marking Information System (NCMIS). From October 1, 2024, marking will be mandatory for vegetable oils, animal feeds, veterinary medicines and non-alcoholic beer, and from December 1, 2024, for certain types of canned products. Currently, there are 18 commodity categories that require labeling and 700,000 companies have been registered in the information system.
