Australia updates import conditions for animal meat floss
On August 20, 2021, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment updated the import conditions of animal floss to apply to floss products for human consumption (meat content greater than 5%). The renewal conditions mainly stipulate that the product must meet the biosafety requirements, and the details are as follows:
(1) Before the product is imported into Australia, it is necessary to obtain a valid import license issued by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment;
(2) If the product arrives in Australia without a valid import license, the product will be returned or destroyed;
(3) The product must meet the biosafety requirements;
(4) Products or any derivatives shall not be distributed, sold or used for animal consumption;
(5) List of documents and materials to be provided.
