Russia has begun to resume on aquatic products exports to China

According to Sputniknews reporting on October 25, Russia began to resume seafood exports to China, which almost stopped earlier this year due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Alexei Dakhnovsky, Russian commercial representative in China, said

“Exports almost stopped in the first quarter. From the statistical data, the situation is improving now. The exports in the first nine months fell by only 5.9% year-on-year. This shows that exports have recovered.”

He added that the overall share of food from Russia’s exports to China has dropped from 7.1% in 2020 to 5.7% at present.

Dakhnovsky explained: "The reason is very clear. It is the pandemic of COVID-19, which requires additional measures to ensure hygiene and safety."
