Vietnamese durian is exported to China through direct trade channels

 After four years of negotiations, Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan signed the protocol on plant quarantine requirements for Durian exported to China on July 11.  This is an important condition for the stable sale of Vietnamese durian in the Chinese market.  
   
once signed, the protocol will be sent to China's General Administration of Customs and posted on its official website with a list of Vietnamese durian plantations and packing factories that meet export conditions.  
   
Vietnamese durian will be officially approved for export to China after the protocol and list of approved Vietnamese durian plantations and packing factories demonstration on the official website of the General Administration of Customs of China.  
   
According to the protocol, fresh durian from Vietnam must meet some basic requirements from the Chinese side.  Meet the requirements of food safety and health, no excessive pesticide residues;  Meet packaging and packaging information requirements.  
   
China is the largest and potential market for fresh durian for Vietnam.  Therefore, from 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has instructed the Cultivation Bureau to start negotiations on Vietnamese durian exports to China.  
   
By the end of 2021, the country's durian output reached about 642,600 tons, up 15 % year-on-year, according to the Cultivation Bureau.  Frozen durian from Vietnam has been exported to many countries.  
   
China's General Administration of Customs recently agreed to import Passion fruit from Vietnam on a trial basis starting July 1.  
   
So far, durian is the 11th fruit allowed to enter China, following pitaya, watermelon, lychee, longan, banana, mango, jackfruit, rambutan, mangosteen and passion fruit.
