On 9 August 2022, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) issued Regulation No. 469, revising the technical regulations on the characteristics and quality of wheat flour. Main contents as below:
(1) Revision of the definition of whole wheat flour: a product produced by crushing or grinding wheat or other wheat species of the genus wheat, consisting of starch, bran and germ, and present in wheat in a fixed proportion, allowing a loss of up to 2% of the grain or 10% of the bran;
(2) The regulations will take effect from September 1, 2022.
