EU plans to authorize cannabidiol (CBD) as a novel food ingredient
            On November 3, 2025, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published document No. 10.2903/j.efsa.2025.9708, proposing to authorize synthetically produced cannabidiol (CBD) as a novel food ingredient for use in food supplements. The maximum usage level is set at 150 mg per day. The target population is the general population aged 6 years and above, excluding pregnant and lactating women.
