Malaysia Proposes Update to Chocolate Regulations, Introduces New Requirements for Compound Chocolate
On June 20, 2025, the Food Safety and Quality Division of the Ministry of Health Malaysia issued Draft Amendment No. 2/2025 under the Food Act 1983 for public consultation. The consultation period will remain open until July 19, 2025. This draft covers a wide range of revisions, including additions, deletions, and adjustments to the product standards related to cocoa and cocoa products in the Food Regulations 1985. The revisions involve various products such as cocoa beans, cocoa nibs, cocoa butter, cocoa powder, cocoa mass, and chocolate.
