Case Study | Regarding Illegal Imports and incomplete Qualifications

Case Study | Regarding Illegal imports and incomplete Qualifications by global foodmate

Jing bought 2 cans of “Japan ICREO Stage 2 Japanese Local Milk Powder 820g March 2019 (exemption from postage)" in a Taobao store, and there was no Chinese label on the product packaging. The milk powder is a food that is not currently allowed to be imported in China and cannot be provided with information required for importing, such as relevant customs declaration documents and inspection and quarantine certificates.

Therefore, the court determined that the milk powder involved was a food that did not meet food safety standards and asked the store to refund the purchase payment and pay ten times’ compensation to Jing.
