On 25 April 2024, the European Commission published Regulation (EU) 2024/1194 which, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council, Renewed approval of nicotinic acid and niacinamide as feed additives for all animals.

According to the conditions set out in the Annex, this additive is authorized as an animal additive in the category of "nutritional additives" and in the functional group of "vitamins, provitamin and chemically defined substances with similar effects". The authorization ends on May 15, 2034. These Regulations shall take effect on the 20th day as of the date of promulgation.
