Unqualified foods came from 31 countries or regions (products from Australia, 16 batches, were the most, following with Japan and US). 15 categories of food were involved, among which aquatic products, beverages and meat were the top 3 unqualified foods.
The foods refused for entry did not comply with China’s laws and regulations. The main reasons of rejection were: without required certificates or qualified documents (33 batches), illegal food label issues, animal diseases detected, inconsistent of goods with documents, etc.
Unqualified cosmetics came from France (7 batches), US (1 batch) and Japan (1 batch). The rejection reasons were illegal labelling and without required certificates or qualified documents.
The above mentioned unqualified foods and cosmetics had been returned or destroyed at ports, according to GAC.
