February 19, 2021, the Korean natio
nal legislation Center issued Notice No. 467, which revised the aquatic food production qualification, application name, and traditio
nal food certification provisions in “Food Industry Promotion Law". Part of the revised co
ntent is:
(1) Revise the declaration procedures for the aquatic product processing industry;
(2) Relevant provisions for revision of product name application;
(3) Revise procedures and methods for quality certification of aquatic traditio
nal foods. Applicants who require aquatic traditio
nal food quality certification should submit additio
nal materials such as the production, sales performance and variety manufacturing report of the product to the certification body within the last 6 months. After the certification body accepts the application, it must pass the factory audit and product audit to co
nfirm whether the quality is certified.
