Australia has removed Spain from its list of countries free of sheep and goat pox

On 26 September 2022, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry issued import Industry Advise Notice 180-2022, removing Spain from the list of countries with access to sheep and goat body fluids and tissues and from the list of countries without sheep and goat pox.

 

This Notice applies to importers of sheep and/or goat dairy products, sheep and/or goat body fluids and tissues (including laboratory products containing body fluids and tissues) and livestock feed from Spain.

Due to the outbreak of sheep pox and goat pox in Spain, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has removed Spain from the list of countries with access to sheep and goat body fluids and tissues and from the list of countries without sheep pox and goat pox in order to reduce the risk of incursion .
