The EAEU issued an amendment to the technical regulations on Milk and Dairy Product Safety

On September 27, 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC) issued an amendment to the technical regulation on Milk and dairy product Safety, which revised the definition, sensory, physical and chemical indicators, labeling and other requirements of some products. The main contents include:

 

- Definition revision: reconstituted milk, ice cream(containing milk), curd, whey powder, etc.;

 

- Sensory index revision: liquid milk, reconstituted milk, etc.;

 

- Revision of physical and chemical indexes: liquid milk, including sterilized milk, fermented dairy products, fermented dairy products produced with water, yogurt, whey powder, instant milk powder mixture, instant beverage, etc.;

 

Microbiological limit index revision: After heat treatment, at least pasteurized bottled and canned milk, bottled and canned whey and buttermilk, milk with a shelf life of more than 72 hours, etc.

 

In addition, the amendment also adjusted the way of expressing the name of milk and dairy products: it can be followed by adding contents describing the production method of the product, the characteristics of raw materials and the use of fermentation microorganisms.

 

The amendment will take effect on September 23, 2023.
