Canada approved to expand use of erythritol to include ready-to-eat breakfast cereals and their coatings

On February 2, 2023, Health Canada issued document NOM/ADM-0194, revising the list of permitted sweeteners, approved to use erythritolin in granola, other ready-to-eat (RTE) breakfast cereals and ready-to-eat breakfast cereal coatings .

 

It is understood that erythritol has been allowed to be used in various foods as a food additive in Canada. This revision will come into effect on February 2, 2023.
