Economica.net reported on the 12th that according to Eurostat data, the average price of agricultural products produced in the EU will increase by 24% in 2022, of which cereal prices will increase by 45%, egg prices will increase by 43%, milk prices will increase by 31%, and only fruit prices will decrease by 3%. During the same period, the average price of agricultural inputs (including services) has also risen sharply, an increase of 30% compared with 2021, of which the prices of chemical fertilizers and soil amendments increased by 87%, and the prices of energy and engine oil up 59%.

The main reasons for the price increase are: the Ukrainian crisis has impacted the world agricultural product market and the input market such as chemical fertilizers; the large-scale drought has reduced crop production; the rise in energy prices has further intensified inflationary pressures, etc.
