According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (MARD), a total of seven types of aquatic products from Vietnam have been approved for export to China: shrimp, crab, salmon, squid, pollack, cod and charfish. Among them, shrimp is the largest aquatic product exported by Vietnam to China, accounting for 24% of Vietnam's total aquatic product export and 41% of its export value.

In terms of the type of aquatic products, frozen aquatic products accounted for 93% of the total export volume and 89% of the export volume. The export registration procedures of aquatic products shall be carried out on the one-door trading system of the General Administration of Customs of China. So far, 805 Vietnamese enterprises have obtained export certificates issued by China for Vietnamese aquatic products. China has issued 128 codes to Vietnamese aquatic products.

In order to promote the export of fresh aquatic products to China, each breeding and packaging base in Vietnam is first inspected and issued food safety certification, veterinary health certification and code by the local agriculture, forestry and fisheries administration.
