New Zealand plans to adjust the registration fee policy for infant formula manufacturers exporting to China

On March 22, 2023, the New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) released the“Annual Review: Proposed 2023 Changes to MPI's Cost Recovery" (No: 2023/06), which intends to adjust the 2023 agricultural chemicals, veterinary drugs use tax policy and enterprise audit fee policy, in order to make up for the fiscal deficit. Among them, as for the SAMR registration audit fee of New Zealand infant formula manufacturers exporting to China, it is proposed to be adjusted from the current paying US $230.50 per person per hour to paying $295.00 per hour for MPI to audit the product registration process for infant formula. The proposed implementation date is July 1, 2023. The feedback period ends April 24, 2023.
