On April 3, 2023, the Consumer Affairs Agency of Japan (CAA) revised and published the“Food Allergy Labeling Manual for Processed Foods". The main contents include: knowledge related to food allergy, the necessary lines of food allergen labeling, the labeling scope of specific raw materials, labeling, food allergen labeling examples, consumer countermeasures and reference materials. Food labeling standards specify the representation of processed food, fresh food and food additives, and require that food sold must be labeled in accordance with food labeling standards.
