Eric Dormoi, director of the National Export Promotion Department of the Panamanian Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MICI), said recently that Cosmo Fish, a fishing company located in the province of Herrera, exported its first batch of frozen shrimp to China, totaling 37.4 This is also the first time that a Panamanian company has exported frozen shrimp to the Chinese market.
The website of Panama TVN-2 TV station reported on June 9 that Dormoi revealed that the first batch of frozen shrimp exported by Cosmo Fish to China totaled 1941 boxes, which were packed in two containers.
Dormoi also said that although two factories in Panama have been officially authorized to export seafood to China, they have never achieved export before, and this export is undoubtedly good news.
According to data released by the Panama Audit Office, in 2022, Panama's shrimp exports will increase significantly, with shrimp exports reaching US$67.9 million, an increase of 127.9% over 2021, and it has become Panama's fourth largest export product and export destination. Mainly including the United States, Spain, Italy, Denmark, France and so on.
