The data released by FSIS includes two parts, one is archived data, and the archived data is updated every year; the other is current data, and the current data will be updated quarterly.
From February 1, 2023, FSIS began to detect 6 species of Shiga toxin-producing E. E. coli 0157:H7 in samples of meat, other unprocessed ground beef portions. Samples received by FSIS laboratories on or after February 1, 2023 will be tested for relevant STEC serogroups. The purpose of FSIS's move is to prevent pathogens from entering the food supply chain from "farm to fork" and help related industries to identify bacterial subtypes and implement control measures.
