GACC Announcement No. 143 of 2023 (Announcement on Phytosanitary Requirements for the Import of Fresh Mango from Laos)

On October 24, the General Administration of Customs of China issued Announcement No. 143 of 2023, announcing that from now on, fresh mango imports from Laos that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed.

 

The orchards, packaging plants, cold storage and heat treatment facilities of mango exported to China shall be reviewed and filed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos (hereinafter referred to as the Lao side) and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side). Registration information includes name, address and registration number, so that export products do not comply with the relevant regulations can be accurately traced. The registration list shall be provided by the Lao side to the Chinese side before the annual export season. After approval by the Chinese side, China will publish the registration list on the website of the GACC.

 

At the same time, the announcement also detailed the relevant requirements for imports, including packaging requirements, plant quarantine certificate requirements.
