On November 16, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phong Duc Chin and Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son Province Liang Chung Choong co-chaired the launch ceremony of the first batch of Vietnamese bird's nest products to the Chinese market under the protocol signed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the General Administration of Customs of China on November 9, 2022.
Vietnam's AVANEST Nutrition Joint Stock Company is the first enterprise to obtain two bird's nest product codes for export of refined bird's nest and ready-to-eat bird's nest issued by the General Administration of Customs of China. This is the result of Vietnam's strict and effective implementation of the Protocol's provisions on inspection and quarantine of bird's nest products exported to China.
In Vietnam, bird's nest farming for commercial purposes took shape in 2004 in some southern provinces. In the past decade, the industry has developed rapidly, with rich varieties and expanding scale.
At present, there are more than 22,000 bird nest farming activities in 42 provinces across the country, producing about 150 tons and worth more than $600 million.
