On 15 December 2023, the Polish Agency for Agricultural and Food Quality Inspection issued new regulations for the labelling of aromatic products in wine and its sector, effective from 8 December 2023 onwards. Main contents:
(1) General: the labelling and presentation of wines and aromatic products of the wine industry sold or intended for export in the EU shall include a nutritional declaration, a list of ingredients, a minimum shelf-life for wine products with a de-alcoholisation process and with an actual alcohol concentration of less than 10 % vol. by volume; nutritional labelling on the packaging or on the accompanying labels may be limited to the indication of the energy value, which may be indicated by the energy symbol "E"; complete nutritional declarations shall be provided electronically and shall state on the package or label that this nutritional information will not be presented in conjunction with other information used for sales or marketing purposes and that no user data will be collected or tracked;
(2) Ingredient list: any ingredient or processing aid, or substance or product used in the manufacture or preparation of a food that is susceptible to allergies or intolerances shall be described; additives belonging to the categories of "acidity regulators" and "stabilising factors" that are similar or interchangeable may be listed in the ingredient list under the heading "Containing The list of ingredients begins with the words "contains ...... and/or", followed by the words "contains". and/or", followed by no more than three additives, at least one of which is present in the final product;
(3) Transition period: If produced before the specified date, it may continue to be placed on the market until stocks are exhausted.
