Kenya's fishing industry is set to boom after the signing of an economic partnership agreement between the country and the European Union, which will enable fishermen in the lake region to increase their earnings and boost exports to the EU market.
The agreement will open the door to duty-free and quota-free exports from Kenya to 27 European countries, stimulating economic growth in the region.
Kenya is currently in similar negotiations with the United States and the United Arab Emirates to further open markets for Kenyan exports.
